You are so right about what we do to make the holidays this way. The interesting thing is, WE do it. We make them this way. They don’t have to be, but the expectations just make it that much more stressful for us.

You know you live in a weird word when holidays become stressful instead of jolly. We set so many expectations of things we must do, have, be, feel during holidays that they become like a job we want to get rid of, so we can return to our real job
