Hey Scott,

Great comment, and valid points. The food thing was something I completely missed, so kudos for pointing that out!

Pancakes do have that effect, don't they? I've caught my fair share of Emotional Colds though, but I thought that one was a bit funnier than the other stories I had. :)

Interesting stuff. I definitely agree that emotions can be contagious and that we must be vigilant about what we're taking in and sending out. Also, though, as you know, emotions are often times a by product of something else. Thoughts we're entertaining, words we're using, the physiology we're allowing, etc. Of course, a big one to add to the list of emotional contributors is the food we eat (or other things we put in our bodies). I'd even go so far as to say that it doesn't sound like you caught an emotional cold on your day off with your wife after all. I think you just had some fantastic pancakes and they did to you what they do to us all - knock us out and drain us of our physical/emotional vitality. I only say this because "emotional responsibility" is a key focus of mine for my own life and I truly believe that the causes, not the symptoms, are what we need to treat and be aware of.

As my father said once, "You know how to make people have a good time." I am a Positive Patty, sometimes to my own detriment. I can come home amped or drained.

Sometimes people will mask their negative natures and become dependent on others to constantly boost them emotionally. This never works out in the long run. And the fury of the negative Nancy when left out in their cold dark pit alone can be horrifying.

This is a good reminder to be conscious of this and to make use of the bubble visual.
